another friday, another INSTAfriday - the "words behind the photos..." according to life rearranged. 

last friday night, we had 'family night' at disney on ice. we met at campisis by daddy's office & had dinner before and saw this giant eyeball park. the kids thought it was hilarious. it was just weird. but apparently there's a bit of a story behind it. apparantely the owner of the hotel across the street wanted to build a parking lot here, but the city wouldn't let him - saying it would be an eye-sore in the city. {really? it's dallas.}

so he bought the land to build a park. and now there's a giant {and i mean GIANT} eye ball - an eye-sore - in the middle. 

pretty funny, if you ask me. you get 'em, guy. 

c. cried when the princesses came out on the ice. no lie. and of course, the magic of it all made us a little teary. to watch this through a child's eyes is pretty great. disney knows how to do everything. i mean, really. i can't wait to take our kids there some day.  

sunday afternoon we were supposed to watch the nascar race here in texas. but the weather wouldn't let up. we got there at 12:30 {the race time was 2:00} and by 5:00 we were done. no race and no update. by 7:00 they had called the race and moved it to monday morning. booooo. this one was still a happy camper. bless.

monday, our oldest turned six. what? he requested "lots of bacon" for his birthday breakfast. daddy had to get donuts too. 

legos are his favorite. daddy stayed up late with him monday night building a set. then daddy went out of town a few days and b built the next set himself. he is so proud. it took him two afternoons after school - but what a tremendous feat!! 

tuesday night was our pta meeting + the fine arts showcase. little miss had a great time "pretending" she goes to school here with the big kids. bless her heart, she still has a while..... 

getting ready for our little show this weekend! i hope you can join us! it's at bradbury lane in richardson, tx from 10:00-5:00. we'll be in the tent outside the store! we can't wait! these items will be available in the online shop in early may!

two weeks ago we threw a SURPRISE party for my momma's 60th! we got her good - and it was so much fun hosting all of her sweet friends in our home.  she's such a special momma. 

 

we had a little photo booth and i finally bought the instax camera i've been wanting forever... my little one had fun dressing up for the fiesta!

the Lord has been teaching me a lot the past few weeks - and challenging me to take more action. it's easy to think that i can't do it. that i'm not good enough.... that He could never use me to do that. but that's the point - He is made strong when we are not. He's just the best, isn't He? 

i love my erin condren planner. love it. and this is my third year to have one and i'm using it more this year than i have ever before. i've added these itty bitty post it notes to my planner this year. to make it more colorful {and fun!} but to also get organized when it comes to business / home / finance things.

and the princess sleeps. she did not have this tiara on when i laid her down, by the way. somehow it made it's way onto her head during her nap, i'm sure. 

we got a fierce hail storm last night in north texas. i've never seen hail this big in person. it sounded like people were pounding on our roof - i'm surprised we haven't started getting the door to door roofing companies knocking yet. thankful to be safe and not too much damage done {that we know of.}

this morning i was reading in my bible and this little piece of paper fell out. it's our notes from when we spoke to the women in nambarizzi. it's amazing when i think about how the Lord used us there. so beyond anything i could have ever dreamt up. ever in a million years. i was thinking on it last week, actually... about going to college and meeting with an advisor when i registered for my first classes as a freshman. he asked me what i thought my major might be. i vividly remember telling him that i was deciding between interior design, a business degree in accounting, or being a teacher. and last summer, in a rural village deep in the heart of africa, i found myself teaching about my creative, handmade business. the Lord works in mysterious ways, doesn't He?

so i didn't ig a lot this week apparently. 

i tend to hibernate when i get super busy.... i guess you could say i hibernate into my "real" life vs. my social media life. i've been trying to get the house back together after the tornado came through that is called little branches. i try to keep it contained in my studio, but when a big show happens it has a way of creeping into all other rooms of my house.

the hubbs & snuck away for a little date night a few weeks ago. this coffee place is so yummy. {and they make it pretty which is always a bonus!}

family day at central market + pet land. this cutie pie we called molly. she's presh. {c is presh too, right?}

trying to get back in shape. i've run more in october than i ran all of last year. trying to keep it up in the midst of busy schedules is challenging. but so worth it.

my sweet friend is a huge peyton manning fan. like, the biggest there is. when she found out they had tix to the broncos/cowboys game a few months ago she graciously extended us an invite. i think it was only because she wanted to trash talk the whole time. and boy could we keep up with her. :) it was an awesome game. we thought we'd get crushed but we didn't. romo played awesome and i walked away without a 'w' but feeling pretty great about it anyway.

woot for christmas stuff going in the shop!! we are so excited to get going on all of our online promotions starting in november! 

coffeeeeeee is my saving grace. always.

pta night. cookies + milk. they had the allen drill team + the chick fil a cow there bringing milk. too bad lil' miss was so scared of the cow that she ended up missing out on ALL of the fun. 

Truth. boom.

the trunk show was so fun. we are so grateful for our treasured customers. we want to grow our base but keep the small business. it's hard to figure out the right balance. i'm praying that God will give me clarity and wisdom as we make plans for the coming year.

friday we had fundraisers all day for the hubbs downtown. my rockstar brother works at bolsa in the bishop arts district. it's not an easy drive for us from the burbs to get there for dinner - so since we were close we made a trip over his way. it's always so fun seeing him in his element. we are so proud of him.
