About Me

Hi, friend! I am so glad that you're here! If we were sitting together, I would ask you if you wanted another cup of coffee and then proceed to ask all sorts of personal questions about your life! Where are you from? How did you grow up? What makes your heart skip a beat now?

But since we aren't sitting together (boo!) I'll poor my own cup of coffee and tell you a little bit about myself. I am the artist and owner behind the hand-painted sign shop, Little Branches. I graduated from Baylor in 2004 with a degree in Interior Design, married my hunky high school sweetheart shortly thereafter and moved to a small + homey duplex in Dallas while Jeff attended law school. I worked at an architecture firm there for several years before we started our family. Soon after we had Brady (8) and Charlotte (5), I began to pray for a way to incorprate my design skills, creativity and heart for others into a career that would be suitable for being a stay at home mom, but still help provide for our family.

Little Branches was born in the fall of 2012 with the purpose of using my creative gifts to bless others for the sake of the Kingdom. Currently, Little Branches products can be found in the Etsy Shop every Monday night at 6 PM, and at Spice Village in Waco, Texas. You can follow along for sneak peeks and updates on my Instagram feed that very lovingly (and deliberately) mixes scripture, food, painting and family.

Prior to Little Branches being born, in the fall of 2011, God called Jeff and I to change our lives dramatically. He called Jeff to run for Political Office. It was an extremely challenging decision, as we had a very young family at the time, but we knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that God had called us to step out on faith and let Him provide. In the middle of this call, He began to place a message of hope and encouragement in my heart that I knew I would eventually have to share - outloud

He has called me to dream bigger - for myself and for other women. To find hope in today, no matter where I find myself. To rest in Him alone, not my role as wife, mom, politician's wife or volunteer coordinator.

This blog was born out of that dream.

I hope you leave here feeling refreshed and hopeful about where God has you in life - even if it is down in the trenches. Even if you're waist deep in piles of laundry and dirty diapers. Even if you aren't sure what career move to make next or if your prayers are being heard or if you'll ever be enough for what has come your way. My prayer is that you will find this blend of food, family, fellowship and fun to be life-giving to your soul, as it has become to mine in pouring these words out on virtual paper.

It is such an honor to offer each and every written word as an offering to the Lord and I am so blessed that you would decide to spend time here with me today! So, pull up a seat and find a story to read. You are welcome here and I can't wait to hear all about your journey too. I hope you stay a while!

Becky currently spends her time writing, painting, changing diapers, doing ministry and drinking loads of creamy coffee. Most days you can find her running errands covered in saw dust and paint, wearing her beloved cowboy boots and chasing her three kids. She (tries) to write weekly here, but be sure to check out the mini-blogs on instagram here.
